How do I make the braid?

After having the dough ready and stretched into a rectangular shape, place the filling on top. Then roll the dough and divide it in half with the help of a knife or pizza cutter. After dividing, braid as shown in the image and brush with egg yolk and agave syrup.

  1. First step

    Combine the flours with the yeast and mix. Set aside.

  2. Second step

    In another bowl, combine the olive oil, milk, beaten egg, syrup, and orange zest. Mix everything well and combine with the flours, mixing carefully.

  3. Third step

    Knead for about 5 minutes and form a ball. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in a warm, closed place for at least 2 hours.

  4. Fourth step

    After rising, start preparing the filling by combining all ingredients, except the pistachios, in a pan.

  5. Fifth step

    Let it cook while stirring until it thickens slightly.

  6. Sixth step

    Stretch the dough into a rectangular shape, spread the chocolate cream and pistachios.

  7. Seventh step

    Roll the entire dough and cut it in half with a knife. Braid and, if desired, brush with a little egg yolk mixed with agave syrup.

  8. Eighth step

    Place in a loaf pan and bake in a preheated oven at 185º for 40 minutes.
