This cake recipe was one of the best I have ever made, and I have made many cakes indeed! Are you a peanut butter and chocolate lover? Then this recipe is exactly for you. With an incredible chocolate and peanut flavor, this cake is a sensation at parties.

To make everything better, the cake recipe is super simple to make, and once again, with easy ingredients that you probably have at home, and also as usual without refined sugars.

I as a huge chocolate fan, and recent peanut lover (because no, I really didn't like peanuts at all), could not resist making a recipe with this combination. And I admit that I was not expecting it to be so good, there are really recipes that pleasantly surprise me.

For this recipe you need:

  • Eggs
  • Vegetable drink
  • Coconut sugar
  • Peanut butter
  • Cocoa powder
  • Whole wheat flour
  • Venus yummy drops
  • Pinch of salt
  • Baking powder

Do I need to use peanut butter?

The truth is that this recipe will be WONDERFUL with another nut butter, or even seeds, any! I just used peanut because it is cheaper and because I love the combination, but with almond butter it must be something out of this world, don't you think? Will you try with another butter? Tell me how it turned out, if you try it.

Which cocoa to use?

I personally ALWAYS use pure cocoa powder and sweeten as I wish. Raw cocoa powder is undoubtedly a better option compared to chocolate powder or lean cocoa powder, which you will notice that often it is not just cocoa in the ingredients. If you want to use another type of cocoa powder, see its ingredients and adapt the recipe to your taste.

Other substitutions

You can replace the vegetable drink with milk or more eggs. The coconut sugar can be replaced by any other sugar, such as honey, agave syrup, brown sugar, among other options. If you want the cake to have fewer calories, stevia is a great option!

The flour I used is the one I use most in cake recipes, but you can use, for example, oat or rye flour, it works equally well.

You can buy Vanilla Yummy drops at prozis, but they are not mandatory. You can remove and add more sugar, if you want the recipe sweet, or use vanilla essence.
