These brownies are super simple, juicy, and with no added sugar, they are undoubtedly a great dessert or option to accompany your coffee! If you're a fan of cocoa and brownies that melt in your mouth, this recipe is perfect for you.

You will love these brownies because:

  • They have no added sugar or oil
  • They are easy to prepare
  • They are naturally sweetened
  • They are gluten-free and flourless
  • They only take 4 ingredients (or are they 5? Does water count? haha)
  • They melt in your mouth

For this recipe you only need:

  • Pitted dates
  • Ripe bananas
  • Cocoa powder
  • Peanut butter
  • A bit of water

Where can I find the dates? Can I substitute them?

You can find dates in several supermarkets, for example, Mercadona, Pingo Doce, Continente, and Auchan, you can also find them at your local supermarket. If the dates have pits, remove them and weigh without the pits to use in this recipe.

You can substitute with raisins or dried plums, but it will slightly change the flavor.

Do I have to use bananas?

Bananas are a fundamental ingredient, maybe you could use cooked carrots or sweet potatoes, but they won't sweeten the same way.

Where can I find cocoa powder?

The one I use is from Prozis, you can order by clicking here.

Can I use another butter?

Any nut or seed butter will work well, another option is to use a bit of plant-based drink, but it won't have the same texture.
