Aletria, the typical Christmas sweet in Portugal, and who doesn't love this delicacy that looks like sweet cooked pasta? haha I personally love it, but only SOFT AND HOT!!! Cold, I don't even have much interest in eating.

Do you like the aletria made by your mom or grandma? Eat that one! Do you want to make a different and healthy version? Then keep reading to see this option.

For this recipe you need:

  • Vermicelli pasta
  • Milk
  • Water
  • Egg yolk
  • Honey
  • Vanilla essence
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Lemon zest

Can I use another sweetener instead of honey?

You can even use stevia, it's up to your preference. I used honey because I love the flavor it gives!

Do I have to use milk and egg?

You can make it with just water or plant-based milk, it's possible to make several adaptations.
