For the dough you need:
- White flour
- Whole wheat flour
- Dry baker's yeast
- Warm milk
- Coconut oil
- Egg
- Orange zest
- Sweetener or coconut/brown sugar
For the filling you need:
- Milk or plant-based milk
- Cocoa powder
- Agave syrup (or honey)
- Cornstarch
- Vanilla essence
Do I have to use white wheat flour?
White wheat flour will help make it fluffier and rise more. It's not mandatory, but it will be less dense if you use this flour.

First step
Combine the yeast and flours. Mix everything.

Add the warm milk with the egg, coconut oil, sweetener, and orange zest. Mix well until the sweetener dissolves.

Add the previous mixture to the flours and mix well until you form a fluffy, non-sticky dough.

Fourth step
Let it rise in a closed, dark place, covered with a cloth, for at least 4 hours.

Fifth step
Before stretching the dough, make the filling.

Sixth step
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and cook on low heat until it thickens slightly.

Seventh step
Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape and spread the filling all over.

Eighth step
Roll from the wider side of the stretched dough and cut the roll in half (as shown in the video).

Ninth step
Intertwine and form the crown.

Tenth step
If desired, brush with an egg (gives a beautiful golden color) and add hazelnuts.

Eleventh step
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 35 minutes.
